Porg – Star Wars – English

20171215_175154

NB: Porg is a character in the new Star Wars movie, and the character design is thereby not mine. This is just a fanbased pattern of that said design. That characterdesign belongs to Star Wars/Disney. The pattern however is mine. You can not sell this pattern or share it without my permission.

So, Im a big Star Wars fan, and I went to see the new movie, Star Wars VIII. And when I saw that porg… I just knew I had to make one. So I did, and here is the pattern. Note that this is a free pattern, since the charachter design is not mine, I just based it on Star Wars’s porg, and the pattern is not been tested by anyone, so there might be errors.

What you’ll need:
Yarn: Drops Cotton Merino, in the colors off white 01, mustard 15, beige 03, rust 25.
Hook: 3 mm
Saftey eye: 14 mm
Stuffing, scissors, needle, a little black thread for embroidering, pins.

Stitches – US:
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Inc: increase – 2 sc in one stitch
Dec: decrease – 2 sc together – use invisible decrease if possible.

Techniques to know:
There is a lot of colorchanges in this pattern. So a method you can use is tapestry crochet, or you can start with a new thread each time.

Eyedetail:
Each eye differs a bit, so make one of each. Fasten the safety eye in the middle of the first round in the white, and you’re going to fasten it through 2 layers, the eyes and body. This means it will be a little thick, so make sure to fasten it well. If you are unsure of if it’s fasten well enough, you can burn it a little on that spike, to melt it down. I have not tried this myself, so do that on your own risk.

Legs – make 2:
In mustard
1: 6 sc in magic ring = 6
2-5: 1 sc in every st = 6 (4 rounds)
6: now we’re not going to be working in the round anymore – increase in the next 3 sts, chain 1 and turn = 6 – we are now only working over these stitches.
7: 1 sc in every st = 6
Toes:
8: 2 sc, 1 ch, turn = 2
9: 1 dec = 1
Finish off the first toe, and make the to others in the same manner by repeating round 8 and 9 in the next stitches. Finish all toes off and fasten all the threads. Sew the legs on to the body underneath.

And then we are done! I hope you liked the pattern. 🙂

Again this is not my character design, just my interpretation of it. I have based it on the species porg, and not a specific porg.

If you have any questions, or find any mistakes, please let me know. 🙂
If you make one, I would love to see! Share it as a project on Ravelry, or on Instagram by tagging it with #katrineklarer or me @katrineklarer.
